1. About these terms
BuildCaster gives software teams a place to collect ideas, run a roadmap and publish updates. These terms describe the relationship between you and Hiltos LLC, based in Michigan, United States, operating BuildCaster (“BuildCaster”, “we” or “us”). Contact support@buildcaster.app about these terms.
“Workspace owner” means the person or organisation responsible for a workspace. “Participant” means someone who contributes to a portal. If you act for an organisation, you must have authority to accept terms and manage the information you provide on its behalf.
These terms cover the current invitation-only evaluation service. They do not create a paid subscription or promise future commercial pricing. A company operating a portal remains responsible for its own product, commitments and relationship with its customers.
Effective September 16, 2026, for use of the evaluation service from that date. These terms do not retroactively waive rights or remedies relating to earlier use.
2. Access and accounts
You must be legally able to enter this agreement, use an email address you control, and give accurate account information. Keep sign-in links private and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. Do not share a team account to bypass access or teammate limits.
Verifying an email address establishes control of that address. It does not establish that someone is your customer, colleague or employee. Workspace owners are responsible for granting appropriate access and removing access when it is no longer needed.
Invitation-only portals require accepted invitations or team membership. Attempts to bypass these restrictions are prohibited. BuildCaster is intended for business feedback and is not directed to children.
3. The test service
Use sample or non-sensitive evaluation content. Do not rely on the test as your only record of important business information. Features may change or be unavailable, and test access may end. We do not offer an uptime or support-response commitment for this evaluation.
Example portals are visibly fictional and may be reset. BuildCaster’s own feedback portal contains actual development needs. Your feedback does not require us, or another workspace operator, to implement an idea or meet a delivery date. Votes express support; the workspace team retains product judgment.
4. Your content and permission to operate the service
You retain your rights in content you submit. You give BuildCaster permission to host, copy, process, transmit and display that content as needed to provide the service, maintain backups, protect the service and carry out the workspace’s authorised instructions. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content.
You must have permission to submit content and any personal information within it. Do not submit passwords, authentication links, payment-card information, health records or other sensitive personal information to this test.
Workspace teams can approve, decline, edit, merge, archive and moderate feedback, and publish linked release updates. Merging or editing can change how a request is presented. A roadmap status is not a contractual commitment by BuildCaster to deliver another company’s feature.
5. Visibility and workspace responsibility
Approved public ideas, public comments, display names, decisions and published updates on a public portal may be viewed, copied or indexed by anyone. Pending ideas are available to their submitter and the workspace team. Invitation-only content is restricted to the portal’s permitted audience.
Workspace owners choose portal access, invite people, manage their team and control exports. Workspace exports include participant email addresses and private records. Owners must provide appropriate privacy information to their participants and use exported information lawfully. BuildCaster’s privacy notice explains our processing; it does not replace a workspace operator’s own notice.
Changing an audience, archiving or deleting a record cannot retract copies or email messages already received by others. Contact the workspace operator through its usual support channel about its use of your feedback.
6. Acceptable use
Use BuildCaster lawfully and respect other people’s rights. We may restrict content or access to investigate misuse or protect the service. When reasonably practicable, we will explain the restriction and how to contact us about it; immediate action may be necessary for security or legal reasons.
- Do not post unlawful, infringing, harassing, discriminatory, deceptive or abusive content, malware, or unsolicited advertising.
- Do not attempt to read or change another tenant’s private records, impersonate others, harvest personal information, or evade account restrictions.
- Do not disrupt the service, overload endpoints, bypass request limits, or conduct intrusive security testing without prior written agreement.
- Do not use imports or invitations to enrol people in marketing or product emails without the permissions required for that purpose.
7. Email and notifications
Sign-in and invitation messages help provide access you or a workspace team requested. Voting does not subscribe a participant to notifications. Product emails depend on follow settings, portal-wide preferences and the recipient’s continued access.
Participants can change preferences or use unsubscribe links. Imports and merges do not authorise new email subscriptions. Workspace teams must not treat a support vote or a verified email address as marketing consent. Email acceptance does not guarantee delivery; providers and recipients may reject or delay messages.
8. Trials and billing tests
The current pricing hypothesis is US$79 per month for one product, one portal, five teammates including the owner, and one custom subdomain when provisioning is available, with a proposed 30-day trial. These are proposals for a later paid pilot.
Current Stripe checkout uses test mode and charges no real money. Enter Stripe test-card details only. A test subscription will not automatically convert to a paid subscription. Actual charges require separate commercial terms and an explicit paid checkout.
Checking out during the last two days of an existing test trial may extend that trial to at least two days, as explained in Billing. Hosted customer-domain activation is not included as a working capability of the current public test.
9. Ending access, export and deletion
A trial without confirmed subscription access becomes read-only when it ends. A scheduled subscription cancellation takes effect on the date shown in Billing. New contributions and routine notifications stop when a workspace becomes read-only; existing content remains available to authorised readers and the owner can export it while the test service remains available.
Cancellation, archiving and account deletion are different actions. Cancellation does not delete your history. To request account or workspace deletion, contact support. We verify identity and authority before disclosing, exporting or deleting private information, and may need instructions from the workspace owner for workspace content.
The privacy notice explains current retention, including backups. We may keep information needed for legal obligations, security, opt-outs or disputes. Access may also end if you materially breach these terms or the evaluation closes. Where reasonably possible, we will give workspace owners notice and an opportunity to export before ending the evaluation.
10. Availability and legal rights
This is an evaluation service provided on an “as available” basis. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, a particular business outcome, or that every planned integration will become available. Keep your own copies of important information.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, no additional implied warranty is given for the evaluation. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty, consumer guarantee, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. These terms do not require arbitration, waive class-action rights, or set an agreed monetary cap on liability.
11. Changes, questions and disputes
We will identify changes with a new version and date. Material changes affecting your rights or use of personal information will be brought to your attention before they take effect where required. New purposes requiring permission will not be introduced merely by silently replacing this page.
Contact support@buildcaster.app first if something is wrong so we can try to resolve it. This does not limit your ability to contact a regulator or use a court or remedy available under applicable law. These terms are governed by Michigan law and applicable United States federal law, except to the extent mandatory law requires otherwise. This choice does not remove any consumer protection or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived, or prevent you from using a court available to you under mandatory law. No exclusive court is selected.
